What is Osteopathy?
Osteopathy
is a drug-free, non-invasive, manual medicine that has a holistic approach to
pain. It aims to restore optimal posture, increase mobility of joints and
provide efficient movement for good overall health.
Osteopathy
uses a wide range of techniques from gentle articulations to manipulations
performed on muscles, joints and nerves to bring about therapeutic benefit.
Osteopathy can be used as a reactive solution to help recover from pain and
injury. However, osteopathy can also be a preventive measure to rebalance,
strengthen and/or rehabilitate muscular weakness and postural imbalances.
AN OSTEOPATH
A qualified
Australian osteopath is registered with the Australian Health Practitioners
Registration Association (AHPRA) and has completed a five year university
Program consisting of a bachelor's degree and a master's degree.
A qualified
osteopath has to spend three years in the clinic on completion of the five year
program before entering the workforce.
