Cancer is potentially curable if diagnosed early. The Centre for Cancer is equipped to provide comprehensive care for patients with all types of cancers, including solid tumors and blood related diseases.
The Oncosurgery (surgical oncology) department has a team of qualified and trained surgeons for the surgical management for cancer patients. Surgery plays an important role in the treatment of most cancers. While surgery alone is adequate for early cancers, most advanced tumors require multi modality treatment.
The surgical team is backed by a well equipped postoperative intensive care unit for smooth recovery of all patients.
All types of cancer surgeries are performed as per international standards.
Head & Neck Cancer – (Cancers of Tongue, Oral cavity, Salivary gland and Throat)
Breast Cancer (Radical as well as Breast conserving Surgery)
Cancer of Oesophagus (Food Pipe)
Gastro-intestinal Cancer (Stomach, intestinal cancer, Colon (Large Intestine) and Colo-rectal cancer
Hepatobiliary Cancers (Liver, Gall Bladder and Cancer of Pancreas)
Gynaecological Cancers (Ovarian and Uterine cancers and Cancer Cervix)
Cancers of External Genitalia (Testis and Penis)
Chemotherapy is the use of medications to destroy cancer cells. It is usually used after surgery to destroy remnant cancer cells, but may be used with or without radiation to help shrink the tumor before surgery.
In the Day Care Chemotherapy Unit we administer chemotherapy and the patient is allowed to go home the same day.
The other cancer services, that we offer apart from diagnosis and treatment include public education, preventive screening, pain management and palliative care.
